Is Santa Barbara Blueberries an Organic Farm?

We get this question a lot.  The short answer is, "No".  However, we can rightfully be called a "natural farm", because we do not use chemical sprays or pesticides.  New visitors to U-Pick are immediately encouraged to pick and eat right off the plant.  Natural farming methods allow us to get people picking and eating without any concern for chemicals or bad reactions.  This is a great topic for anybody who is interested in eating healthy.  I have seen a lot of odd information floating around about organic and naturally grown foods, so read on.

Blueberry Heaven!

Late Saturday morning, a steady stream of cars turned off Highway 101 in Gaviota and entered a dirt parking lot.  The sign at the entrance said "closed," but those in the know knew it didn't apply to them. They were VIPs.

Clad in baseball caps, T-shirts, jeans or shorts, and sunglasses, they'd arrived for the first day of blueberry picking season at Restoration Oaks Ranch.
